RE:FORM showcases art exploring themes of becoming and self-actualization, rooted in the expansive, ever-evolving experience of identity.
Now in its second year, RE:FORM is host to 70 artists ranging in identities, but united in shared humanity and the deeply personal and often political process of uncovering who we are.
THE MISSION...
of this exhibition is an intentional resistance to the current divisive climate by amplifying the artist’s individualism and personal truth. Too often, identity is weaponized by political agendas, reducing individuals to talking points or erasing nuance entirely. RE:FORM stands as a refusal of that erasure. Art has long been a vessel for reclaiming narrative, building community, and asserting personhood.
As an organization dedicated to providing aid, building power, and networks of solidarity for trans Nashvillians, Trans Aid Nashville understands survival is not enough. This show is an invitation for us all to thrive in community and in real solidarity with one another. Throughout the month of July RE:FORM hosts 12 events all centering specific cultural identities and activities that create opportunities to connect.
